Measles is presently spreading in some parts of London, and there are concerns that declining MMR vaccination levels may see wider transmission of this potentially extremely serious illness. 106 cases of measles have been lab-confirmed in England since 1 January 2023. 72 (68%) of these were in London. All UKHSA regions have detected at least one case – with unconfirmed levels of community infection likely to be higher.
