appointment needed.
Pharmacists can provide medical advice and treatment for a range of minor
illnesses, like coughs, colds, sore throats, rashes, aches and pains.
They can also supply medicines for seven conditions, if appropriate, without the need
for a GP appointment or prescription.
These conditions are:
• an earache (for those aged between 1 and 17) and you may have a high
temperature
• impetigo which can give you an itchy rash
• a dry, scratchy or sore throat
• a urinary tract infection (UTI) which can feel like a burning or a pain when
you pee for women aged 16-64 years old
• sinusitis which can be a blocked or bunged up nose
• shingles which can give you a rash and make you feel unwell
• infected insect bites which can be red and sore
